The Flow 03:36
The Flow Are you thinkin’ that there might be more Are you hearin’ a voice inside your head That’s calling, calling, calling Are you thinkin’ that life is short And you only get one to make your way You don’t wanna be stalling, stalling Well if you find you’re in a rut Grab on to what elevates you Take a step and plant your foot And soon a new direction takes you CHORUS: When you get into the flow, to the flow Get into the flow, uh huh When you get into the flow, to the flow Get into the flow, uh huh And you know there’s gonna be sometimes When it doesn’t really seem to go just right But you gotta keep trying, trying, trying Later on you might be surprised When you notice how the different things you tried Will eventually help you when they tie in, tie in, tie in Don’t be afraid to improvise Something of your own creation When you’re in a jam you know you’re ripe For a mind and spirit collaboration CHORUS And just for a moment everything falls in place Don’t want this feeling to ever go away You hold on loosely, ‘cuz the groove is everything You’re finding your way CHORUS
2.
Happy Thank You Yes More Please We’re in the apartment, I finally finished all my chores I’m sick of screens and I can’t read the news, not anymore The sun is out, whatcha say we go explore Get some fresh air, breeze in our hair The day is ours, what should we use it for CHORUS: We’ve got this time together, oh it’s such a treat We could go out, just roam around and be carefree I’ve had my share of bitter, ready for some sweet Oh let’s go be happy thank you yes more please I’ll make a picnic and put our favorite things in it Head out of the city, and don’t forget to grab a blanket So we can lounge for a glorious hour in the shade of a big old tree And we could read, or play cards if you will teach me CHORUS Or we can stay here, and that would be fine And you can do your thing and I can do mine There’s always more work that needs to be done But let’s not forget we know how to have fun CHORUS
3.
Which will I choose, I wish I knew Which will you choose, ohh I wish I knew Which will I choose, I wish I knew... Make my guess and follow through We strategize, philosophize We try to find any way to see But only when it’s through will we know what it’ll be I put my hands in and you will do the same I can’t stand this anticipation, anticipate, anticipate Which will I choose, I wish I knew Which will you choose, ohh I wish I knew Which will I choose, I wish I knew...but we’ll find out soon CHORUS: Rocks paper scissors Rocks paper scissors That’s the game that we play every day Rocks paper scissors Rocks paper scissors How it goes, we won’t know until we throw We make our choice and hope that it’s alright But there are so many things that we can’t conceive Things that are going to happen no matter what we believe I can see the writing on the wall, but it doesn’t mean I’m right at all No one really knows how the cards will fall, 'til... CHORUS

Next to You 02:53
Another wonderful weekend my love And I’m still wearing Sunday’s smile With you it’s fun just running errands around town Stealing kisses in the grocery aisle Then home on the couch, settle in for a quiet night You'll pop the corn, I’ll pick the movie this time Some days the best things are the simplest too I just wanna be next to you, I just wanna be next to you But now the week begins, we’re off to make our day, Still I’ve got Sunday on my mind Replaying all the jokes and faces that you make And planning out the ways that you and I Are going to take on the world and see everything in it All day I’m just grinning yeah my face just won’t quit it, ‘cuz We’ve got so much to be looking forward to And I can’t wait to be next to you, I just wanna be next to you We can live a life that’s big and still enjoy moments that are small You are the one I wanna walk through life with Mmm together we can have it all CHORUS: Wherever we go, next to you, whatever we do, next to you  Wherever this life may lead, I just wanna be next to you Ohhh so tonight, oh let’s drive out where the waves are crashing over  Windows down and music up, I’ll put my head on your shoulder And we’ll make every day feel like a treat and I can’t wait to see Where we take ourselves. Of all the places There’s one that I will cherish over anywhere else… CHORUS
5.
I drink my coffee, it’s my early morning breeze Turn on the news, that’s my energy I go to work ‘cuz that’s the ground beneath my knees But you, you are the world to me CHORUS You, you are the world, you are the world You are the world to me You, you are the world, you are the world You are the world to me I check the boxes, I makes the calls, it’s midweek in the marathon I need each breath just to keep my balance I get caught up sometimes in it all, bumps in the way, some days I fall Its not all great just as it happens But I get back up to see what’s next, try not to let myself forget that CHORUS Instrumental CHORUS

Antarctica 03:09
Took a ship way down south to where few have called home To where penguins and petrels and albatross roam Where humpback whales dance on the ocean with grace And waves carve the icebergs into magical shapes She can bring veteran travelers to tears of joy And make elder folks giddy as young girls and boys CHORUS: Oh Antarctica A place like her there’s only one Oh Antarctica A part of you she will become From moment to moment she’s constantly changing With landscapes as different as winter and spring At times she denies you, at times she’ll surprise you She’ll capture your heart with the beauty she provides you CHORUS She belongs to us all to protect and to cherish Something so beautiful you can’t help but want to share it CHORUS
7.
Bittersweet 04:03
I found myself on the front porch step Watching the rain fall down as I quietly wept But the tears felt good to me Just the thought of you, it sets me free Boy you know that’s what you are to me My bittersweet Tracing my fingers along the balcony Sitting next to the place where we used to be Sharing sunsets and stories and a long embrace Falling more in love with you everyday Praying that you felt the same as me So bittersweet CHORUS: Wondering why I let it all fall down This love that should lift us so high And isn’t it crazy, isn’t it cruel What a fool I’ve come to be For bittersweet So I pour myself another glass of wine The taste of sweet merlot, it brings me back in time To the night when in your eyes I first saw the stars And I was mesmerized by you and your guitar And I finally found in your lips what a kiss could be And it was so sweet CHORUS
8.
Nobody said that life would be easy Or free of confusion or anger or sadness Nobody said it would go according to our plan Believing it would only adds to the madness And I don’t expect that it’ll be painless Though I do believe we’ll get through it together But I can honestly say that you’ve made it A little bit better When I was lacking compassion When I didn’t want to see the truth You had a way of finding it for me And turning on the light so I could see it too When I felt myself get turned around When the thoughts and feelings had me stuck You’d remind me to check the map and You’d cheer me on each step I took And I’m grateful for every word that you gave and I wrote them all down so I will remember And I can honestly say that you’ve made it A little bit better A little bit better Oooh, ooh, a little bit better
9.
I mailed a birthday card today to your apartment So funny you’re just a mile away from where I once lived So glad you got a job you like and finished your degree I can’t believe you’re turning 25, how old does that make me And we don’t see each other as often as I’d like But I hope you know that you can call me anytime I’m here if you need me Ever since you were a little child You’ve moved through the world with confidence A loving heart, agile mind, killer smile You learned new tricks and made friends everywhere you went But sometimes life can get so hard When you’re trying to be both kind and smart Stay strong, keep yourself healthy Keep your good friends close, and you know I’m here if you need me And I can’t help but wonder if I could’ve done more to save you pain To warn you about the forces that would tempt you in dangerous ways But thank the gods you found your route Your heart is full, your head is clear It’s no surprise that you now provide The words to those who need to hear, you say I’m here if you need me I’m here if you need me I’m here if you need me
10.
Heya, heya, heya Heya, heya, heya Yours to choose, yours to choose What you do is yours to choose Yours to choose, yours to choose What you do is yours to choose Heya, heya, heya Heya, heya, heya All I have, all I see, all I am is all I believe All I have, all I see, all I am is all I believe Heya, heya, heya Heya, heya, heya I am free, I am free, I am free I hold the key I am free, I am free, I am free I hold the key Heya, heya, heya Heya, heya, heya

about

~ The story behind the album ~

I've been writing songs since I was 5, it has always been a part of me. I recorded my first solo EP in 2005 and three more since then. After my 2017 album "Supposed To Be" I stopped recording for a bit and just enjoyed playing my live shows, including opening gigs for 10,000 Maniacs and the Gin Blossoms.

In summer of 2019 I felt like some new songs were about to happen, and little by little, they did. That September I wrote a song called "The Flow" - a percussion-based, earnest and joyful song, which helped me set the tone for the songs that soon followed. I decided that this time I would produce the album myself, at home. With my MacBook, a Scarlett Focusrite audio interface, a few mics and some advice from friends I was able to get started. Some days it has been fun and easy, dancing around my "studio" with shakers and tambourines. Other days have been a struggle with technical difficulties (pro tip: it's probably user error). Or other challenges, like when music suddenly took a backseat so I could support my 88-yr-old Grandma during her fight against breast cancer. But thankfully she is doing great (now cancer-free!), and the songs slowly evolved into actual things. It's so cool to me how each new album, each new song, is a new chance to grow and to learn, to express something. And I'm so appreciative of all of you who are taking this ride along with me. <3
